User Awareness Programme Jalpaiguri Campus
On 01/06/2022 the University Library, NBU, organised a User Awareness Programme on library services for the students, Ph.D. scholars, and faculty members of the NBU Jalpaiguri Campus.
The University Library, University of North Bengal, organised a User Awareness Programme on library services for the students, Ph.D. scholars, and faculty members of the NBU Jalpaiguri Campus. The event began at 12.30 p.m. on 01/06/2022 at the Seminar Hall, Department of Sanskrit, NBU Jalpaiguri Campus. The program's main goal was to raise user awareness of library services and encourage usage. The programme enticed a total of 79 participants.
Mr. Shubhrangshu Kumar Mistri, Deputy Librarian, demonstrated e-resources available to the library through various consortiums such as e-shodhsindhu and DeLNet, as well as subscribed databases and journal packages.
Mr. Manash Esh, Senior Information Scientist, illustrated how to link to the NBU Main Campus remotely via VPN connectivity. He informed participants to visit the NBU Jalpaiguri Library and use the digital platform for accessing E-resources for optimum uses. He also briefly discussed and showed the mechanism for applying for a new membership card on the online platform, as well as its criteria.
Ms. Yangzee Sherpa, Assistant Librarian, demonstrated how to search for books in the online catalogue and locate books on the shelves. The session was followed by an interactive discussion with the participants.
