On 15th August 2022, the Prime Minister of India introduced the concept of One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) to provide all students, faculty, and researchers access to scholarly research from top journals worldwide.
The ONOS initiative aims to help make India self-reliant in research and development. This scheme allows access to over 30 leading international publishers, providing critical academic and scientific articles to over 1.8 crore students and researchers across India, including those in smaller cities.
Starting from 1st January 2025, ONOS will be available for three years, providing a nationwide solution to acquiring research resources. The project is led by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre under the Ministry of Education.
